Computerboards for the Microcomputer lab.
Here You have some information concerning the boards for laboratory exercises with Microcomputers that we have developed and they are for sale.We have also developed boards with Siemens C167CS and Atmel AVR-boards.
The boards are doublesided, thru-plated complete 16-bits system with Siemens C167CS processor, 256kB RAM and 256kB FLASHROM. The boards have contact-arrays for the user, where e.g. all portpins are available. Refer to the linked pictures.
The new 167-board
At present we have developed 6 different models, all based on the 16-bits Intel 80C196KB controller. We are soon finished construction of boards with Siemens C167CS micro.
The boards are doublesided, thru-plated complete 8/16-bits system with Intel's 80C196KB processor, 32kB RAM and 16/32 kB EPROM. The boards have at least 2 contact-arrays with 26 pins each for the user, where e.g. all portpins are available. Some boards have more than two contact-arrays. Refer to the linked pictures.
8bits : size 90*100 mm.
Space for 256kb EPROM, 256 kb RAM, and 2 contact-arrays, where all port-pins exists. Decoding with A15 indicates that address 0000-7FFF is for EPROM and 8000-FFFF is for RAM. Analogueinputs are protected by diodes.
16bits : size 90*100 mm.
Exactly like above but 16-bits, that is double amount of RAM and EPROM. For EPROM and RAM we have chosen 16 KB, totally 64 kb.
16-bitep : size 90*100 mm.
Same as above 16-bits but spce is provided for zero-insertion socket for the EPROMs.
PSD : size 90*100 mm.
PSD is a nice chip. It is a 44 pins PLCC that includes 64kb EPROM, 2 kb RAM, 3 more ports and a number of chip-select-signals connected to a contact-array. All in one chip, meaning you could get a 2-chip system. Choice of 8 or 16-bits.

LCDTIM8 : size 135*90 mm
As above mentioned 8bits with tre addition of a LCD-connector, real-time-clock and the decoding is with a PLD, 16V8. One more connector exists, where the address/data-bus and chip-select signals from the PAL exists.
LCDTIM8POW : size 135*90 mm
This board has a real-time-clock, address- and data-bus connector, LCD-connector and a PAL 16V8 for decoding.
There is also a power-connector for unregulated power. A rectifier-bridge and 7805 for regulation.
Also there is a 9-pin D-SUB for serial-communication (196 port2 ). The transormation from 12 to 5V is with a 233-chip.
There is a 34-pin connector, where all bus-signals exists, as are 5 Chip-Select-signals from the PLD-chip 16V8. This PLD decodes not only these 5 CS-signals, but also RAM, LCD and the ral-time-clock ( 58167 ). A 7673-chip and a battery is for backing up the RTC.
A small board for testing the ports. The testboard have2 LED-arrays connected to IOPORT1 and IOPORT2 for simple test of the outputs.
1 DIP-switch connected to IOPORT0 for testing the inputs.
1 potentiometer connected to P0.7, choosable with a switch for testing analogue in..
All boards :
The connectors at the board edge have the same pinconfiguration. Thus its easy to switch between boards.

Memorydecoding is made simply by adress A15 and an inverfter ( not the PSD-board nor the LCDTIMx-board that both have PLD as the decoder ) :
A15 = 0 EPROM active, A15 = 1 RAM active. Thus you get the following memory-map :
EPROM 0000 - 7FFF
RAM 8000 - FFFF
The LCDTIMx-boards has PLD 16V8 as decoder and the PSD-board has an internal decoder.
EPROM : may be chosen as 27128 or 27256 with a switch.
RAM : if the processors intern RAM ( 200 byte ) is not enough, you may install a 32kB RAM-CHIP.
RESET : DS1834-chip resets the CPU.
AD-in : the 8 A/D-inputs are protected by diodes both to VCC and to GND.
LED : a light-emitting-diode is connected to port 2.7 for testing purposes. May be not connected with a switch.
VREF/ANGND : these may be connected to +5V/GND or to VREF/ANGND with switches.
CRYSTAL : may be either 12MHz or 16 MHz, depending the type of the CPU.
There is also an 8bits-switch, where you may choose to connect HSI0-3, RxD, EXTINT, T2CLK rr T2RST to ground.
All chips are decoupled with 0,1uF.
